WebCam2000
WebCam2000 is a cool application that lets you share live still pictures on the Internet. It can show images in either JPEG or bitmap (BMP) formats. Plus, it can include full HTTP headers, or if you're into a bit of tech magic, you can serve the image 'raw.'
Why Use WebCam2000?
This second option is super handy if you want to do more with your images later on. For instance, you could use WebCam2000 as a back-end for a CGI script! Just keep in mind that this software is meant for users who have a live internet connection—so no dial-up connections here!
Requirements for WebCam2000
Requirements:
- A Video for Windows capture device and camera.
- A live internet connection like cable modem or DSL. Dial-up will work too!
Unlike some other picture server programs, WC2K doesn’t snap photos at intervals and upload them to an FTP server. Instead, it serves up images live as users request them. So, your computer needs to be online for WC2K to work its magic! If you're not connected to the Internet, WC2K will still run, but no one will be able to reach it.
