Description
WebCam2000
WebCam2000 is a neat app designed to help you share live still pictures on the Internet. It's super easy to use and can send out images in either JPEG or bitmap (BMP) format. Plus, it gives you the option to include full HTTP headers or just serve the image raw.
Live Image Sharing Made Easy
The raw image option is really handy if you want to do some extra processing on your pictures. For example, you can use WebCam2000 as a backend for a CGI script. Just keep in mind that this software is made for users with a live internet connection. The current version can't dial up an ISP or FTP upload images, so you'll need to be online!
Requirements for WebCam2000
Requirements:
- A Video for Windows capture device and camera.
- A live internet connection, like a cable modem or DSL. Dial-up works too!
Unlike some other picture server programs, WebCam2000 doesn't take photos at set intervals and upload them to an FTP server. It serves the images live as users request them! This means your computer needs to be online for it to work properly. Sure, WebCam2000 will still run if you're not connected, but no one will be able to see your images.
