Description

WebPrinter

WebPrinter is a simple browser that comes with a cool feature: it can convert webpages to text and print them out just like that! You don’t have to deal with all the images and extra stuff on the page. Just click a button, and you’re good to go!

Easy Webpage to Text Conversion

This tool also lets you save a webpage as a text file quickly. So, if you only want the words without any of those annoying .jpg files or frames, WebPrinter has got your back.

How It Works

The magic happens thanks to its text conversion engine. It works by filtering out all the HTML code bits related to links, pictures, or other website info. This means what you see is just the readable text from the webpage.

Best for Article-Style Pages

We’ve tested WebPrinter on various sites, and while it’s not perfect for heavily tagged pages, it shines when pulling text from article-style content. If you're someone who loves reading articles online, then this tool can be super handy!

Simplified Browsing Experience

The WebPage > Text conversion shows you the webpage's text in a handy box while you browse in your regular browser window. You have two options: either print it out or save it as a file.

A Few Drawbacks

If you try saving a webpage as a text file in Internet Explorer, all links will be saved too. That’s because IE doesn’t filter through tags like WebPrinter does. Plus, when printing from IE by highlighting text and right-clicking, sometimes parts of your printed text get cut off at the sides.

User-Friendly Features

WebPrinter was created as a basic browser with some essential features: back, forward, stop, refresh, favorites list, homepage access, URL input, and browsing through history. It’s straightforward!

Create Your Favorites List

You can easily copy any URL from Internet Explorer and paste it into WebPrinter's address bar. Over time, you'll build up your favorites list without breaking a sweat!

User Interface Design

The program's interface is designed for common screen sizes (1024 x 768). If there’s enough interest from users like you, they might update it to fit more screen resolutions. They’re also considering adding a function for copying favorites from Internet Explorer if enough people ask for it!

Requirements:

  • The program works best at a common screen resolution of 1024 x 768.

Limitations:

  • This trial version has an upgrade reminder after ten seconds when starting up but functions fully without limitations otherwise.
