Weather Map is a handy little app for OS X that lets you check out real-time temperature readings and rainfall stats. It pulls this info from a global network of public Netatmo stations, which is pretty cool!
This lightweight tool gives you quick access to current weather conditions, but keep in mind that it shows only basic data and doesn’t offer any weather forecasts. When you first open the app, you’ll see an interactive world map filled with temperature readings from various stations around the globe. The best part? It automatically figures out your location to make sure you're getting relevant information.
The temperatures are displayed in either Fahrenheit or Celsius and use different colors. This makes it super easy to spot hot and cold areas at a glance!
But wait, there’s more! Weather Map also gives you real-time precipitation data. You’ll see different icons showing whether it's dry or if rain is coming down lightly or heavily. However, it doesn’t dive deep into details about the type of precipitation.
If all you need is a quick look at current temperatures and rainfall amounts in various spots, then this app does its job just fine! Plus, there's a search function so you can find cities easily and tap into data from many stations worldwide.
On the flip side, it doesn’t show other important weather details like wind speed, air pressure, or cloud coverage. And remember—no forecasts here! You’re only seeing current temperatures and rainfall stats.
In short, Weather Map is a straightforward app that helps you view real-time weather info gathered from a wide network of stations. Just keep in mind that its uses are limited since it provides only basic data.
