Vetero is a neat little weather app that steps in while we wait for Apple to hook us up with something for the menu bar. And trust me, there are loads of third-party options out there, each with its own vibe.
This app is pretty cool because it’s both detailed and easy to get. It tracks key weather stats like temperature, humidity, wind speed, and pressure without making your head spin. Plus, you can check out hourly forecasts right from your menu bar!
The first thing you’ll notice about Vetero is how well it blends into macOS. The temperature display fits perfectly in the menu bar, and the design feels just like other parts of your system. So, it won’t look weird or out of place.
If you want to see more details quickly, like the “feels like” temperature or the UV index, you can do that too! But just a heads up: accessing those features requires a Plus subscription.
You don’t need to be a weather expert to get what you need from Vetero. It gives you all the basics: local temperature, humidity levels, wind conditions, and atmospheric pressure. It even tells you about the UV index and cloud cover!
The app shows hourly forecasts up to three hours ahead in the free version—if you're all in with Plus, you'll get forecasts for up to twelve hours! You can pick which weather data matters most to you and adjust things like refresh rates and temperature units.
A quick note: Vetero provides weather updates based on your current location only. If you're hoping to track another city’s weather? Sorry! That feature isn’t available.
The free version does a solid job but comes with some limits—like longer refresh intervals (100–120 minutes) and fewer hourly forecasts. If you want full access plus all those extra features that come with the Plus subscription? The price is pretty reasonable for such a well-crafted app. For more details or to download Vetero, check out SoftPas!
