Vala FOR MAC
Vala is a new programming language specifically designed to cater to GNOME developers by incorporating modern programming language features. It aims to offer seamless integration without the need for additional runtime requirements and without altering the Application Binary Interface (ABI) when compared to applications and libraries coded in C.
Key Features:
- Valac, the Vala compiler, facilitates the translation of Vala source code into C source and header files, utilizing the GObject type system to generate classes and interfaces mentioned in the Vala code.
- Provides easy access to current C libraries, particularly those based on GObject, eliminating the necessity for runtime bindings. To utilize a library with Vala, only an API file containing class and method declarations in Vala syntax is required.
- Includes experimental bindings for GLib and GTK+ and has plans to offer generated bindings for the entire GNOME Platform in the future.
