Unbound is a super stylish image manager that really shines when it comes to organizing and previewing your photos. Unlike Finder, which can feel a bit clunky, or iPhoto, which has way more features than you might need, Unbound keeps things simple and neat. You can easily group your pictures into albums, making it easy to find what you're looking for.

Setting Up Your Image Library

The first time you open Unbound, you’ll be asked to set up your image library folder. The app does all the hard work for you by scanning the directory and automatically importing all the images in there. It even converts subdirectories into albums! How cool is that?

Real-Time Monitoring

One of the neat features of Unbound is that it continuously checks your folder to keep everything updated. So if you add or remove images, it reflects those changes right away. Just keep in mind that any changes you make in Unbound will also happen on your computer: new albums create new folders, files get moved around, and deleted images are gone from your system.

User-Friendly Workflow

The workflow is pretty easy to get used to. On the main screen, you'll see all your available albums with their thumbnails displayed nicely. When you click on an album, the window splits into two parts: one shows the list of albums on the left side while the right side displays thumbnails of photos in that album.

Social Media Sharing Made Easy

You’ll love how Unbound integrates social media tools! You can quickly share your favorite images via email, Messages, Twitter, Facebook, or Flickr with just a few clicks. Plus, if you link your image library folder to Dropbox, any updates will sync automatically across all your devices!

Performance and Importing Photos

I tested Unbound by importing over 1300 photos organized into 27 albums. It did take some time but overall worked well! There were a couple of crashes while browsing through my pics but no worries—you can just clear settings and start fresh whenever that happens.
