• Open Terminal.app and type sudo chmod +x, then drag in the traccar.run file.


• Next, enter sudo ./traccar.run.


• Finally, start it up by typing sudo /opt/traccar/bin/traccar start.

Uninstalling Traccar

If you ever want to uninstall it, it's even easier! Just type sudo /opt/traccar/bin/traccar remove, followed by sudo rm -R /opt/traccar, and you're all set!

If you're using Traccar’s default settings with their free service, setting up your phone as a tracking device is super simple. All you need to do is add the IP address of where Traccar runs and use port 5005. Then boom—you can start tracking your smartphone right away!
