TPPal is here to make your testing process smoother! Different programs need different testing methods to meet the needs of users. We all know that testing takes time and effort, and it’s a big part of development. That’s where TPPal comes in. It helps you estimate how long it will take to run a test and what budget you'll need for it.
The visual design can seem a bit overwhelming at first. But don’t worry, this confusion isn’t because the layout is messy! It’s mainly due to the size limits of each component, which can make details hard to spot. The good news? This setup allows you to manage multiple tools better since you can keep several calculators open in different tabs without a hitch.
You kick things off in the administration panel where adding and managing projects is super easy. You just fill out some simple fields like ID, name, start and end dates, plus estimated hours. All your projects are listed in a neat table, showing project type and any other info you’ve entered based on your estimations.
When it comes to estimating time for your projects, TPPal offers two great tools! First up is the software test unit estimation tool. This one helps break down how much total time you've put into various test types for each project. You’ll need to fill out some info fields for accurate results like estimation technique, size, application, programming language, weightage, conversion factor, productivity, and more.
The second tool is the cost estimator. This helps you figure out how much money you’re spending on all those testing procedures. It requires less input than the first tool—just enter effort in PD (person-days), cost per PD, and any other costs if there are extras you'd like to track.
If you want to export data from TPPal, it's done through reports! You can generate these easily by selecting either one specific project or all of them at once. Plus, if you've got a virtual printer set up on your system, your export options will really expand!
In short, TPPal helps you figure out how much time and money you'll need for specialized testing processes on complex apps. Setting up projects is simple and filling out requirement fields for estimates doesn’t take much work either! Just keep in mind that while it might take some getting used to with its rough visual design, it's definitely worth considering!
