Since there's no installation needed, you can just throw the executable file anywhere on your hard drive. You can even pop it onto a USB flash drive! This means you can run it on any computer that has the .NET Framework installed.

One cool thing about The Padlock is that it doesn't mess with your Windows registry or create extra files on your hard drive. So when you want to remove it, everything stays nice and clean.

Simple Password Protection

When you start The Padlock, you'll need to set up a password. This password will be required every time you want to access the locked files and folders. The interface is straightforward, showing everything in one window where you can easily drag and drop files to lock them with just one click!

Customize Your Experience

By default, once you lock something, those files become invisible. But if you'd prefer to see them, you can change this setting in the "Settings" panel. You also have options like keeping The Padlock open even when it's idle or changing the master password.

No Resource Drain

This tool is light on your computer's resources too! It uses very little CPU and RAM while still responding quickly without crashing or hanging during our tests. Thanks to its simple design, first-time users can easily get the hang of The Padlock.

Unlock Files Before Uninstalling

A quick reminder: if you're planning to uninstall The Padlock, make sure you've unlocked all your hidden files first because they'll be deleted along with the app.
