The DALEK is a cool little widget made for the Yahoo! Widget Engine. When you install it, you get a desktop buddy that looks like a Dalek from the famous "Doctor Who" TV show. If you’re not familiar, Daleks are these tough, cyborg aliens inspired by the Nazis. They want to take over everything and get rid of anyone they think is weaker.

Install Your Desktop Companion

Even though the Yahoo! Widget Engine isn’t being worked on anymore, you can still grab it from Softpedia. Installing this gadget is super quick—just double-click the file and confirm to get started!

What Can It Do?

Once it's installed, a new panel pops up in your dock, and your Dalek model appears right on your desktop. This little guy can rotate its head and eyes all by itself, zoom around on your screen, follow your mouse if you're nearby, and even shout “Exterminate!” when you double-click on it. How fun is that?

Customize Your Dalek Experience

If you like tweaking things a bit, you can change how fast your Dalek moves by adjusting the frame rate. Higher frame rates mean smoother animations and quicker speeds! Plus, Yahoo! Widget Engine gives some neat options for all installed widgets.

Add Some Flair to Your Desktop

You can decide if the frame stays normal or sits below or above other windows. There’s also an option to stop mouse dragging or make it more transparent if that's what you're into.
