Textpad is a super simple text editor that’s built with Qt. It’s got just the right amount of basic options to help you create and autosave your notes, to-do lists, tasks, upcoming meetings, or any important events you need to remember.
This app is perfect for anyone who might feel overwhelmed by more complex word processors. If you're looking for a straightforward text editing app without any complicated features, Textpad is the way to go!
One cool thing about Textpad is that it’s available in German too! Setting it up is a breeze since there are no weird options or extra software you need to download. You won’t have to deal with third-party offers either—just straightforward installation.
Once you launch it, Textpad drops an icon in your system tray. This makes it super easy to access everything while you’re doing other stuff on your computer. The interface looks like a classic notepad with a gray background where you can type away or paste text easily.
You can cut, copy, paste, delete, select all text, and even undo or redo actions using the right-click menu. Plus, don’t worry about losing anything; the app automatically remembers what you’ve typed when you close it down.
I’ve tested it out and found that Textpad doesn’t use up much CPU or RAM at all! It ran smoothly without any annoying error messages popping up or crashing on me. Even though it hasn’t had updates in a while, it still works great on newer Windows versions without any compatibility issues.
Now, keep in mind that Textpad isn’t loaded with fancy options or settings. For example, saving text directly to files isn’t something this app does. But hey—it’s free and super easy for anyone to use!
