Terminator is a super handy tool that helps you wipe data off your computer's drives quickly and safely. The best part? It doesn’t mess with the basic functions or settings of your disks.
You can use Terminator to erase data right from your disk drives, or even connect to your computer from somewhere else. If you're busy or away, you can set it up to clean or erase automatically without needing to be at your desk. You can even connect through a mobile phone or a local network!
All you have to do is pick the drive you want to clean, or choose a specific folder. Then, just copy the path into one of the two action blocks shown on the screen. For example, you might say “Erase” in Block A and “Exit” in Block B. This way, whatever location you choose in either block will follow the action you've set.
You can make lists of places like files, folders, or drives and assign them to one of those two blocks. It’s as easy as dragging and dropping items from the left menu into Block A or Block B. Each block is linked to an action of your choice.
If you want to change what each block does, just head over to the Actions tab. You can define actions like “Erase Block A” or “Clear Block B”. Plus, there’s a Test button in the bottom left corner so you can see how your changes will work before going live!
The cool thing about Terminator is that it can run certain processes automatically if scheduled right! This means it can act based on time passing, file changes happening, hotkeys being pressed, or commands coming from within your local network.
If you're using Terminator remotely over a local network, you'll need to set up some things first. Make sure you specify the network port and enter your user credentials (like admin details) along with the server's IP address. You also have options for prompting system processes and saving logs of actions taken.
In short, Terminator is a great tool for cleaning disk drives through remote devices or network commands. You can even perform tasks like shutting down your computer, rebooting it, stopping active processes, or disconnecting from a local network—all manually if you'd like! Or schedule them for automatic execution!
