TechRadar Gadget is a cool little desktop tool for Windows Vista and 7 that brings you the freshest tech news right from TechRadar.com. You can check out summaries and full articles without having to open a web browser. Super convenient, right?
This gadget automatically syncs with TechRadar when you start it up. It shows the latest four news stories in a list, complete with their titles and publish dates. If you're a news junkie, you can even switch it up to show six, eight, or ten stories per page! And if you're feeling curious, just scroll through more pages until you find something that catches your eye.
Now, when you click on an article, it opens up in a way that's not super user-friendly at first. You’ll need to scroll both horizontally and vertically to see all the info and images. But don’t worry! There’s an option to view the whole article in a larger window that looks like a simple web browser. It even has a search tool!
If you want to dive deeper into an article, just click the popout button in the upper-left corner. This will launch your default web browser with that current article's page. Pretty neat!
The widget lets you update its RSS feed every 5 to 60 minutes—your choice! Plus, it can auto-scroll through articles anywhere from 10 seconds up to 20 minutes. You can also pick whether you want to search for website content or product reviews and even disable search history if you're sharing your PC.
We tested TechRadar Gadget ourselves, and everything ran smoothly without any hiccups or crashes on the OS. It's light on system resources too!
In short, TechRadar Gadget offers great options for keeping up with the latest articles from TechRadar.
