Taskbar for Mac is a cool tool that brings a familiar feel from Windows right to your Mac. It works kind of like the Dock on macOS, which is great if you're switching over from Windows. Some folks might argue which one is better, but it really depends on what you like!
This app gives Mac users a fresh way to manage their applications. By closely mimicking the Windows taskbar, Taskbar replaces the Dock and adds some handy features that make app management easier.
The setup is pretty straightforward but does ask for a few permissions. Once everything's in place, the Dock will hide automatically when you use the taskbar, so you can focus on your apps without distractions.
You’ll notice it’s quite similar to what you’re used to in Windows. You can drag and drop apps to change their order or pin them for quick access. Plus, clicking on taskbar items lets you minimize or unminimize windows easily!
A cool feature is that application windows show up as separate items on the taskbar. This makes switching between different apps super easy! There’s also support for Spaces, allowing you to organize your workspace just how you like it.
However, there are some limitations when it comes to dropping files onto taskbar apps like you would with the Dock. As for customization options, currently, you can only adjust how wide the items are and center them—there’s no option to change size or transparency just yet.
Taskbar for Mac shows real potential! If you're not a fan of the Dock or if you're coming from Windows, this app could be just what you need. It functions well at this point, but we hope for more features soon—both in functionality and customization!
