Customize Your Breaks

You can easily tweak how this gadget works by heading to the “Options” menu in the app. You can set how long you want to work between breaks (in minutes) and how long your break should last (in seconds). The default setting is 20 minutes for work and 20 seconds for break time.

This setup fits perfectly with what most eye doctors recommend: the 20-20-20 rule. This means every 20 minutes, take a break for 20 seconds and look at something more than 20 feet away. It’s an easy way to give those eye muscles a little relaxation!

During each break, TakeABreak shows you what you should be doing – closing your eyes and just letting them relax! Plus, it can play a sound to let you know when it’s time to start and end each break.

Remembering to Blink

You can also adjust how often the blinking reminder pops up. This feature helps combat dryness and redness from staring at screens too long.
