systemDashboard - CPU Meter is a neat little application that helps you keep tabs on your CPU usage. Think of it like a small gadget on your desktop that shows important system info at a glance. It tells you how much of your CPU is being used, both overall and by individual users.
To use this cool tool, you'll need to have the Yahoo! Widget Engine installed on your computer. Once it's up and running, you'll see an interface that looks like a car meter. It shows your CPU activity from zero to 100%. Just a heads-up, though—it doesn’t show the usage for each core of your computer.
You can customize how the information appears. If you're only interested in the total usage percentage, you can adjust the readout style to fit your needs. There are plenty of display options available!
The widget also lets you change how often it checks for updates on CPU usage. By default, it refreshes every 5 seconds, but feel free to set it to whatever works best for you.
If the default look isn’t quite right for you, no worries! You can change the style and color of your dashboard from the 'Appearance' tab in the 'Options' window. Plus, you can tweak the widget size and transparency to make it just right.
If you want to keep an eye on your CPU all the time, there's an option to keep the widget on top of any other windows or applications you're using. It won't be in your way—you can still interact with everything else while monitoring your stats in what they call 'Heads Up Display' mode.
systemDashboard - CPU Meter is lightweight and super handy for anyone who juggles multiple programs at once without wanting their system to slow down. Keeping track of how hard your CPU is working is essential when you're multitasking!
