Symbol Character Map is a cool little software tool that helps you quickly find and copy various symbols to use in other text editors. The best part? It works on all versions of Windows!
The user interface might not be the easiest to figure out at first, so be ready to spend a bit of time learning how it all works. Some features are shown with small icons, which can make it tricky to know what they do right away.
No worries though! You can use tooltips for quick help. Just hover your mouse over any feature, and a little description will pop up to guide you.
With Symbol Character Map, you can choose from different preset symbol maps using a drop-down list. When you pick one, the symbols show up right in the main window. If the font looks too small, don’t sweat it—you can switch to a larger display for better viewing!
You can click on any symbol to see it in a larger preview panel. This lets you change the size of the letters, pick a font color, or even bold, italicize, underline, or strikethrough them if needed.
Coping symbols is super easy! You can either use clipboard actions (like copy and paste) or simply drag and drop your chosen symbol into your document. Plus, there’s an option to create a list of your favorite symbols for quick access.
Other great options include showing all fonts or just your favorites, printing info directly from the app, closing the program after copying symbols, enabling Unicode support, and keeping it on top of other windows while you work.
Symbol Character Map packs plenty of handy features that make working with symbols easy-peasy. If you're often using symbols in your projects, this tool deserves a spot on your favorites list!
