SHA-2, or Secure Hash Algorithm 2, helps you compare computed hashes with known ones to check data integrity. The program uses two main functions from this family: SHA-256, which has a 32-bit long format, and SHA-512, with a longer 64-bit format.

The app has two main tabs along with a “File” menu where you can save your generated codes into files. In the “Generate” tab, just pick a file and select your preferred hash types to get those unique values calculated right away! You can even copy them directly from the window or save them all to a file by specifying where you want them stored.

A new text document is created for each selected hash type—so you'll know exactly what you're working with. One thing to note though: it doesn’t allow calculating checksums for multiple files at once. But if you process files one by one, the app updates existing text documents with new hashes each time!

Check Your File Integrity

The “Compare” tab is where you can check if your encrypted files are safe. Just point it at a new file whose hash needs calculating or paste in an existing checksum. The tool will tell you if they match up or not—look out for an “OK” message if they do!
