Description

Substitution Cipher

Substitution Cipher is a unique tool that takes a different approach to encrypting and decrypting documents. Unlike other programs that use high-security passwords, this one relies on something called mono-alphabetic substitution. It’s a straightforward way to keep your documents private from prying eyes!

Simple and Straightforward Design

When you first open Substitution Cipher, you’ll notice it has a pretty basic design. The main window is split into two parts: one for encryption and the other for decryption. It's not flashy, but it gets the job done.

File Management Made Easy

One thing to keep in mind is that you can’t just drag and drop files into the app. Instead, you'll have to click the built-in browse button to find your file. Currently, Substitution Cipher only works with plain text files, which might feel limiting if you’re used to working with different formats.

Typing Your Own Messages

If you want to encrypt or decrypt your own message, that's cool too! You can type directly into the app’s dialog boxes. Just remember, before you start encrypting or decrypting, you'll need to set up your cipher alphabet by substituting each of the 26 letters—no spaces or special characters allowed.

Exporting Your Work

Once you're done with your text, you can print it out or export it as a plain text file. During our tests, we found that Substitution Cipher runs smoothly without hogging system resources while doing its job.

A Simple Solution for Everyone

Overall, Substitution Cipher offers an easy way to encrypt and decrypt documents without much fuss. While it may not be packed with advanced features like support for DOC or RTF files or drag-and-drop functionality, it’s a handy little tool if you're looking for simplicity.
