How Does Strongsync Work?

Once you kick off Strongsync, it pops up a menu bar icon that opens up an easy “log in” panel. You can choose from three cloud services: SFTP server, Amazon S3, and Dreamhost DreamObjects. But keep in mind—you can only pick one cloud service at a time.

Your Personal Strongsync Folder

A special folder named “Strongsync” gets created right in your home folder—just like what Dropbox does. Anything you put in this folder automatically uploads to the cloud! Plus, if you tweak any files inside this folder, those changes sync up with the cloud without you needing to do anything extra.

Keeping Track of Changes

The menu bar panel for Strongsync shows the most recently modified files in order. This info updates in real-time as you change things in your Strongsync folder. Got a file name you're curious about? Just double-click it in the panel, and it’ll open right where it lives on your computer.

Add Some Extras

This app also lets you check out the Strongsync log (though this feature seems a bit buggy in version 1.0.65). You can unlink computers too and set the app to start automatically whenever you log into your system.
