Stream Portal is a super useful tool for anyone who wants to catch radio streams without needing a media player or web browser. It gives you an easy-to-use interface and loads of channels to choose from, all with very little effort.
The main job of this widget is to let you watch TV right on your desktop. It does this by integrating the stream into the Windows sidebar. So, when something interesting comes on, you can view the video stream and switch to full screen in a snap!
You can pick your TV station from a big list that also includes many online radio stations. The cool part? All these channels are grouped by country, making it super easy to find your favorites.
The gadget usually shows all available streams, but you can narrow it down by selecting your preferred languages in the Settings window. And if you don't see your favorite station listed yet, no worries! You can request it through the developer's site using the Add new channel button.
One thing to keep in mind is that you can't change the size of the gadget, so you'll need to maximize it if you want to get a better look at what's playing. The only adjustment you can make from the main interface is changing the playback volume.
If you're not on a broadband connection, some TV stations might give you trouble during playback. But don’t fret! Some channels let you pick the stream quality so you can optimize what you're watching.
Even though Stream Portal shows ads while you're streaming, it's still a solid option—especially if you're into listening to radio stations.
