StraightLines is a handy tool that lives in Adobe Air. It’s super easy to use and helps you measure any object or distance right on your screen. You can check out angles, draw two lines, find out their ratio, pick your favorite colors, and even change the measurement unit!

Quick Setup and Features

Getting started with StraightLines is a breeze! Just make sure you have Adobe Air installed. When you launch the tool, it takes over your whole screen with a cool semi-transparent frame. You’ll see a green line that you can drag to any spot on your desktop.

Using Free Orientation Mode

This feature is called free orientation mode. It lets you move each end of the line to create any angle you want! The angle shows in pixels relative to the horizontal plane. If you prefer, there’s an option for a fixed line at 0 degrees where both ends can move together either horizontally or vertically.

Flexible Measurement Units

You can switch the measurement unit from pixels to centimeters or inches, which is pretty neat! Plus, if you need more info, you can add another line to see the ratio between them and compare it to some scientific values like square roots or even the golden ratio!

Customizable Lines

One cool thing about StraightLines is that the two lines can be tilted differently if you want. You can also change their colors to anything else that fits your style! You get to adjust how see-through (opacity) the background is too, but other than that, there aren't many extra options.

Performance Review

The software doesn’t slow down your computer at all! It runs smoothly without using much CPU or memory. We didn’t face any error messages or crashes during our tests either. However, it's worth noting that there isn't a way to copy numerical values directly.
