Description
Stereonet3D is a specialized application meant for plotting data on multiple types of projections. It can plot lines, planes, and circles on spherical, equal area, or equal angle projections.
The application can create various types of plots, including scatter plots, circles, arc segments, rose diagrams, contours, stereonets, fault slip analysis, latitude-longitude data, and full-screen 3D view.
Datasets can be imported from regular .txt files. The plots can be visualized in the main window, with an optional map view. Each line can be toggle on or off and selected to highlight it on the projection.
The Inspector window contains a number of tools and customization options for tweaking the projection. Among others, you can change element colors, labels, contours, symbols, and various other parameters to your liking.
A number of operations can be performed to process datasets. For instance, you can rotate planes and lines, calculate the angle between lines and planes, find the cylindrical or conical best fit, Fisher vector distribution, and Bingham axial distribution.
Processed data with latitude and longitude information can be exported to .kml or .txt and imported in programs such as Google Earth. You can save the generated plots to PDF or EPS.
