It uses audio hardware to manage step motors in real time and just needs an external analog current amplifier to work its magic.

If you're wondering about mounting options, SoundStepper lets you choose between manual equatorial mounts, GoTo equatorial mounts (with or without meridian flip), or even alt-azimuth GoTo mounts! You can limit maximum meridian crossover, change park positions, and tweak advanced settings like guiding speed and audio buffers too.

This software gives you complete control over any type of equatorial-mounted telescopes that use step motors. Plus, if you're using 'GoTo' manual pointing mounts, finding faint objects becomes much easier. You can start or stop tracking as needed, adjust joystick controls for direction changes, log debug info, and enable TCP traffic logging.
