SolidWorks Viewer is a super handy software tool that makes it easy to view SolidWorks assemblies, drawings, and parts. It works with files like SLDPT, SLDASM, SLDDRW, PRT, SLDPRT, and DRW. Whether you're just starting out or you're more advanced in your skills, it has a practical set of features for everyone.
The installation might take a little time to complete, but don’t worry—it doesn’t need any special setup. When you open up the program, you'll see a straightforward interface that's easy to navigate.
Once you open your file, you can zoom in and out or view the entire page. You can also switch between standard views or create custom ones. Want to rotate the model? You can do that too! Plus, if you need to see a cutaway of a part or assembly, just use one or more cross-section planes.
If you prefer less clutter on your screen, you can hide the toolbars and status bar. There are also options to tweak basic page settings so you're all set for printing. However, there aren’t many other bells and whistles here.
When we tested it out, we didn’t run into any stability problems—no crashes or annoying error messages popped up! SolidWorks Viewer responds quickly to commands and doesn’t use up lots of system resources since it requires low CPU and RAM.
Even though it may not have tons of features under its belt, SolidWorks Viewer gets the job done thanks to its user-friendly options. You don't need any prior experience with SolidWorks projects to start using it effectively!
