Description
Snake Game Gadget is a simple gadget developed for the Thoosje Vista Sidebar, that enables you to play a classic game of “Snake”, right on your desktop. It doesn't include any configuration options, making the tool suitable even for users with no experience in software programs.
Once built into the Vista Sidebar, you can undock the frame and move it anywhere on the screen, increase its size, as well as make it stay on top of other windows. This way, you can easily switch from other applications to the gadget and play a game of “Snake”, every time you want to take a quick break from work.
The game includes three difficulty levels - "Slug", "Worm" and "Python", depending on your experience. It shows the score and integrates game sounds that, unfortunately cannot be disabled. An additional option provided by the Vista Sidebar allows you to adjust the frame's opacity level, making it unintrusive.
The tool has a minimal impact on the computer's overall performance, using a very low amount of CPU and memory. It has a good response time and works smoothly, without hanging, crashing or popping up error dialogs; we have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation. Snake Game Gadget provides a very simple method of quickly playing a game of classical "Snake" right on the desktop.
