SmoothScroll is a handy app for your Mac that can really enhance your scrolling experience. You might already know that you can tweak the scrolling direction and speed through the macOS System Preferences window in the Mouse panel. But if that's not quite cutting it for you, SmoothScroll takes things to another level!

Once you have SmoothScroll installed, it lets you adjust settings like scrolling step size, animation time, acceleration delta, acceleration scale, and pulse scale. All these options are easy to access through the app's Preferences window.

You don't have to stick with the default settings either! If you're unsure about what each setting does, just hit the Help button in Preferences. You'll see a little description pop up when you hover over any option.

Testing and Performance

During our tests, we noticed a few quirks. Sometimes when trying to disable custom rules for an active app via the status bar menulet, it didn't always work right away. But when we disabled it for all utilities at once, changes happened instantly! Of course, quitting the app would also do the trick.
