Description

Simple Browser

Your ticket to the information superhighway is a computer, while the vehicle that takes you on the ride is the web browser you use. The market is already saturated with different such apps that struggle to provide better features. Amongst others, you can also find Simple Browser that wants to make the whole experience easy and straightforward.

Key Features:

  • No installation required

  • Portable on USB Flash drive

  • Fast page loading speed

  • Multiple instances support

Unlike most applications of its kind, Simple Browser does not require you to go through the hassle of an installer. It also means you can store it on a USB Flash drive to use on the go, with the target PC's health status and registries remaining untouched.

Once up and running, accommodation is the last thing you need to worry about, because if you're reading this, you're sure familiar with using a web browser. Unfortunately, the limited space may affect practicality as the main window borders cannot be dragged or maximized.

Everything else drags down practicality as the application provides little to no features other than the means to take you to different web pages. You only get to work with a URL input field, and navigation buttons for back and forth, and literally nothing else.

Speed at which pages load is decent, but is not a considerable advantage. System resources used are more than what you get in return. If this simplicity manages to be your cup of tea and want to have multiple pages active at the same time, it's possible by running more instances of the application.

There's a context menu for you to use, but everything you use is strictly related to Internet Explorer, such as favorites. This means that any web page you frequently visit needs to be accessed manually each time. The homepage cannot be changed, and neither can you make the application load the last visited website for a little flexibility.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that Simple Browser deserves its name, but this simplicity drags down flexibility and practicality almost to the point of obsolescence. Sure, pages load fast and you can run more instances, but it's not fully compatible with all script types, and after only a short while you start feeling the need for basic features, which are nowhere to be found here.

Simple Browser is indeed simple to use, with no installation hassle. However, lack of features and limited space hinder practicality.
