Sight Control is a handy little app that sits in your status bar. It lets you control different settings for your built-in camera, which is super useful! Just keep in mind that it’s a companion app, so you need to have something like Photo Booth or Skype running to get the most out of it.
This tool is designed to stay out of your way. You can quickly pull up the customization panel whenever you need it from the menu. Inside the Sight Control Panel, you’ll see your detected camera and can tweak various settings. Plus, you can save those settings as presets! This means you can easily use them again later with just one click.
With Sight Control, you can adjust the auto exposure mode and change things like exposure time and aperture. You also have options for brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, sharpness, gamma, noise reduction levels, and even white balance temperature!
There are more cool options too! You can enable backlight compensation and adjust the power line frequency (choose between auto, disabled, 50Hz, or 60Hz). Plus, it lets you adapt how often your webcam reads and writes settings. The best part? All these changes happen in real-time—no need for any post-processing!
Sight Control works well with many apps that use your webcam. Whether you're on Skype, FaceTime, iChat, Messages, Photo Booth, or even iMovie and QuickTime Player—you’re covered! It’s compatible with tons of other applications too like BoinxTV and Adobe Connect.
In short, if you're looking for an easy way to customize how your camera captures images, Sight Control is a great option. Just remember that it works only with built-in webcams.
