Once installed and launched on your Mac, you can rapidly toggle Night Shift on and off with a simple mouse click on Shifty's status bar item after you enable the "Quickly Toggle" option within the app's preferences. Shifty's menu bar icon will act as a toggle button, and you can access its menu with a right click of your mouse.

With Shifty, you can also customize the color temperature level using a slider control and disable Night Shift for the current foreground application, a long-awaited feature which Apple might not include. via Shifty's status bar menu, you can disable Night Shift altogether for a fixed one-hour interval or a custom amount of time if needed.
