SeisMac is a cool tool that turns your MacBook or MacBook Pro into a real seismograph! It uses your laptop's Sudden Motion Sensor to show you live, three-axis acceleration graphs. Pretty neat, right?
With SeisMac, you get a live display that you can resize and scroll through. It shows tons of acceleration info. Just put your laptop on a table and watch the seismic waves from something as simple as tapping your toe on the floor!
If you lay your laptop on your chest, it can even show your heartbeat! And if there's an actual earthquake? No worries—SeisMac will give you all the seismic details while you drop, cover, and hold on!
When using SeisMac on a MacBook or MacBook Pro, it can measure up to plus or minus two gravities of acceleration. It displays 256 values for each gravity and samples data 200 times per second for each axis. Plus, it's also compatible with older iBooks and PowerBooks that have the Sudden Motion Sensor.
