So, let’s talk about the Security Screensaver. This cool package does two main things when you activate it: it updates and scans your system. It comes with two screensaver options:

What Are the Two Screensavers?

1. Security Screensaver: You can keep this file wherever you like. Just right-click on it and hit install. One little bug to watch out for is that this will kick off the screensaver right away!

2. Security Screensaver NG: This one installs just like the first option.

The Differences Between Them

The difference between the two screensavers:

• Security Screensaver: When activated, it will show a cmd prompt while updating and scanning. You’ll actually see how things are going! Once everything’s done, it kicks off a real screensaver featuring that classic castle logo from Microsoft Security Essentials.


• Security Screensaver NG (No Graphics): This one is a bit more low-key. It updates and scans without showing any windows or prompts, so it's totally silent! But when it's done, it won’t start an actual screensaver.

Compatibility and Features

This package works well with Microsoft Security Essentials versions 1 and 2 (beta). And here’s a neat little fact: if you decide to stop the screensaver while it's running a scan, the cmd prompt won’t pop up anymore!
