SCDownloader is a handy little tool that helps you download audio from SoundCloud. If you've ever wanted to save your favorite tracks without having to create an account, this app is for you!

What is SoundCloud?

SoundCloud is a super popular platform where people share their music and other audio creations. You can upload your own original music and promote it to the world. But here's the catch: if you want to download any of that content, you usually need permission from the person who posted it and also have an account.

How SCDownloader Works

This is where SCDownloader steps in! It’s a small application for OS X that lets you bypass those restrictions. All you need to do is grab the URL of the track you want, and SCDownloader will take care of transferring it directly to your computer.

Important Note on Copyright

Just keep in mind, it's really important not to use SCDownloader for content that's protected by copyright. Always make sure you're only downloading links that are marked as free downloads!

User-Friendly Interface

The user interface of SCDownloader is pretty simple. You’ll find everything on one panel accessible through a menu at the status bar. Here, entering SoundCloud links for downloading audio is super easy!

Batch Processing Made Easy

A cool feature of SCDownloader is its batch processing capability. This means you can enter new links while previous downloads are still going! The app keeps track of all active downloads so you can easily monitor how they’re progressing.

Download Location

By default, any MP3 files you download will end up in your system's Downloads folder. There’s an option in the Preferences panel to change where they go, but during our tests on two iMacs with Mac OS X Yosemite, we found we couldn’t access that area.

The Bottom Line

Even though SCDownloader might not be perfect, it does what it promises! The speed of transfer can vary based on how big the audio file is, but it's pretty efficient overall.
