Description

RSS Builder

Bloggers and webmasters searching for an easy to use application capable of creating an RSS feed for their websites should search no more because RSS Builder can tackle this issue with minimum effort. Especially designed to create RSS news feeds for any website out there, the program relies on what can be very well considered a well-organized GUI, with plenty of features displayed right in the main window.

Key Features:

  • Feed properties panel

  • Image properties panel

  • Style sheet panel

  • Built-in FTP manager

Technical Specifications:

  • Price: FREE

  • Publisher: W. Bokkers

  • File format: Not specified

Setting up RSS Feeds:

The layout is divided into multiple panels, such as feed properties, image properties, and style sheet, each coming with multiple fields to be filled in. For "Feed Properties," you can input title, website URL, copyright, language, editor, webmaster, and description, while "Image Properties" requires you to write down image URL, width, and height. The "Style Sheet" lets you choose between two types, text/xsl and text/css, but also needs the link to the file. Topics must be configured for each feed, again with some information to be provided, including title, link, category, comments, author, and publish date.

Easy to Use:

Last but not least, RSS Builder comes with a built-in FTP manager to automatically upload an RSS feed to a configured website, but it can also save the file separately on the local disks. There's no help file included in the package, but that's not quite a problem since this program is addressed to webmasters who are supposed to have the necessary knowledge to use it with no fuss. All things considered, RSS Builder is an extremely easy-to-use piece of software and with a few improvements here and there, it could quickly become a top product in this particular category.
