Where am I (Wami) is a cool Windows Mobile app that runs on the .NET Compact Framework 3.5. It’s super handy for when you’re on a trip. You don’t need GPS or an internet connection to figure out where you are! Instead, it uses cell broadcast and cell tower info along with a pre-recorded route file.

How Does Wami Work?

So, here’s how it works: the app records information from cell broadcasts and towers while you travel. This data gets saved into a route file. Later, when you're on the move, Wami taps into the current cell broadcast and tower info to find out your location in relation to your planned route. It even gives you an ETA for when you'll get to your destination!

The Route Editor App

Now, let’s talk about the Route Editor application. This part is designed as a WinForms program that runs on your PC. It takes the log file generated by RouteLogger and helps you organize locations into familiar groups.

Create Your Route File

Once you've arranged everything, you can save this organized info into a route file. But don't forget, you'll need to copy that new route file over to Application Data\wami\Routes on your mobile phone so Wami can use it!
