Getting Started with Rest Time

Using Rest Time is super simple! Just double-click the app, and it will pop up in your status bar. You’ll see how much time is left before your next break, which helps keep you on track.

Control Your Breaks

If you click on its menulet, you get a cool HUD-style interface. Here, you can force yourself to take a break if you're feeling too focused. Need more time? You can pause the countdown or even delay it by choosing from some pre-set times right from the toolbar at the bottom.

Customize Your Experience

You can tweak how long each break lasts and set the intervals between them. There’s even an option for audio alerts if that helps remind you! Just hit the cog wheel button at the bottom right of Rest Time's menu.

The Break Countdown

Once it's time for a break, Rest Time will cover your screen with a dark overlay that has a countdown timer and pie chart showing how much time is left. Need to get back early? No problem! An “End Break” button pops up every ten seconds during the countdown so you can jump back into work when you're ready.

Multi-Monitor Support

If you're using multiple monitors, Rest Time has got your back! It automatically pauses when you're away from your Mac and will alert you when it's almost time for that well-deserved timeout at 10, 5, and 3 minutes left.
