Registry Defragmenter is a lightweight and portable piece of software that, as the name implies, lets you defrag the Windows registry, in an attempt to restore some of its stability. It does not contain complex options or configuration parameters, so it can be handled by anyone with ease.

Since there is no installation involved, you can drop the executable file in any part of the hard disk and just click it to run. There is also the possibility to save Registry Defragmenter to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous installers.

The GUI is represented by a single window with a plain and simple layout, where you can start the scanning procedure with the click of a button.

Results show the total registry size, processed hives and analysis time. In order to apply the new modifications and reduce the registry's dimension, you are required to restart the PC. Scanning jobs are performed rapidly, while Registry Defragmenter remains light on system resources.
