rdesktop is an open-source command-line software written in C, designed to act as a Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) client software solution for Windows NT Terminal Server and Windows 2000/2003 Terminal services. It is engineered to natively speak RDP to display the user's NT desktop. The project, initially created by Matthew Chapman, runs on most UNIX-based platforms with the X11 Window System.
