Description

QxEntityEditor is a free graphical software written in Qt and designed to provide a graphic editor for the QxOrm library. It can be used to manage the classes (or entities) and automatically generate the C++ source code.

Key features include support for automatically generating C++ persistent classes, which will be registered into the QxOrm context, automatically generation of DDL SQL scripts (also known as database schema) for various database servers/engines, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.

The software allows users to manage the evolution of the schema for each project, using functions like DROP INDEX, ADD COLUMN or ALTER TABLE, import database structures from existing databases using ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) connection, as well as to transfer data model over the network using the QxService module.

With QxEntityEditor, you can easily and quickly create client and server applications, and because each software project has its own features, the application provides users with various methods to customize the generated files, including an integrated debugger and a JavaScript engine.

The application is backed by plugins, and includes many attractive features, including the ability to import and export your projects. Keep in mind that this is a Beta version and the ODBC import plugin doesn’t work.

The software is written in the C++ programming language and uses the Qt GUI toolkit for its modern and feature-rich graphical user interface. It is a multiplatform application that has been successfully tested under various GNU/Linux distributions, as well as on the Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X operating systems. It is compatible with both 32-bit and 64-bit instruction set architectures.
