Description
QTParted
QTParted is a Partition Magic clone written in C++ and using the Qt toolkit. If you’re looking to manage your disk partitions easily, this software has got your back!
Support for Different Filesystems
So, here’s something cool about QTParted: it can handle various filesystems like REISERFS, NTFS, JFS, and EXT3 even if the libparted library doesn't officially support them. How does it do that? Well, it uses some external tools to get the job done. Let’s break down what you need:
- NTFS: You’ll need mkntfs and ntfsresize (from linux-ntfs).
- ReiserFS: This one needs (progsreiserfs), but be careful! It’s not the same as reisergsprogs.
- JFS: For this filesystem, grab mkfs.jfs, which is part of jfsutils.
- Ext2/Ext3: You will need mkfs.ext3, which comes from e2fsprogs.
- XFS: Lastly, go for mkfs.xfs, provided by xfsprogs.
