PS Move API is a cool free and open-source tool that gives you three different ways to connect with the PS Move Motion Controller. You can use it through USB or Bluetooth, which is pretty handy! The simplest option is the C API, where you can create apps for the PS Move controller using the C programming language.
If you're looking for something a bit more user-friendly, there are two high-level APIs available. One of them is a Python binding that lets developers quickly whip up applications and script behaviors using Python. This is perfect if you want to get started fast without all the heavy lifting!
The other option is a C++ library that works with the Qt Framework. It not only lets you connect to the PS Move controller from C++, but it also has extra features like annotations and extensions. These help when you're working within QML, which is a language used for creating user interfaces.
This library works on Mac OS X (for both USB and Bluetooth) and Linux (but right now, only USB works because of some missing features in Linux's hidraw implementation). But don’t worry! There's hope for better support in future kernel versions.
Thanks to the cross-platform hidapi library, we might see a version for Windows down the line, but that wasn’t part of this project’s goals.
