Description

ProcessClose is a tiny utility designed to help you close all running programs that are not needed by the Windows operating system to work. It is important to note that the tool is recommended for advanced users only, as closing these processes causes several desktop shortcuts along with apps running in the System Tray to disappear. Moreover, after you start the program you can navigate either on the local computer or Internet using the provided integrated navigators.

According to the developer, the application is designed to work in a similar way as Rkill, a tool that was created to kill processes and remove registry entries that prevent users from using their antivirus or other security applications. Similarly to this app, the program's role is to terminate processes only and hence, does not remove potentially dangerous files. After you run the program, it is highly recommended that you open your default security suite and scan the computer. If you just reboot the PC, then all the processes starting with Windows are going to be launched again.

It goes without saying that if you happen to find something suspicious, allow the antivirus to move it to Quarantine before deleting it. To avoid messing up with the registries and make Windows inoperable, double check a process and its corresponding files before deleting it.
