Port Listener XP is a handy little app that helps keep your data safe by opening fake ports. This way, it makes it tougher for unauthorized users to snoop around on your network.
The interface is straightforward with a simple window layout. But heads up, you can't resize it, so what you see is what you get!
You can easily set up a range of ports by loading custom lists from your computer. Just make sure these lists are in TXT format.
Getting things started is as easy as clicking a button! You'll also be able to track how many attacks there have been and even send back messages if someone tries to connect.
Want Port Listener XP to run automatically when your system starts? No problem! You can also customize colors and set warning time intervals for low, medium, and high alerts. Plus, the log details will show you the IP address, port number, and date/time stamps.
This app has minimal impact on your system performance. It uses low CPU and RAM so you won't even notice it's running most of the time. When you exit, it just minimizes to the system tray area without interrupting what you're doing. Throughout our testing, we didn't find any issues like crashes or error messages popping up.
If there's one thing to watch out for, it's that Port Listener XP hasn't been updated in quite a while. So if you're using newer operating systems, compatibility might be an issue.
