Picture Transfer Companion is a free app that makes moving photos between your Mac and iOS device super easy! It's part of the Picture Transfer app for iOS, and together, they offer a simple way to transfer your pictures.
This handy tool works on any Mac that runs OS X 10.6.6 or later (but it's especially good on a MacBook Pro with Retina display). You can use it with iPhones, iPads, and iPod touches running iOS 6 or newer. So, if you've got any of these devices, you're all set!
The cool thing about Picture Transfer Companion is how easy it is to copy photos and certain video files over the same Wi-Fi network. Your devices find each other automatically when they're connected to the same Wi-Fi—no need for messy USB cables or even using iTunes!
You don't have to fuss with settings either! Just open the app on your Mac and your iOS device. Simply drag and drop the files you want to move into the main window of the Mac app, and bam—they're copied right over to your iDevice.
The app supports lots of image formats like JPG/JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, and BMP. For videos, it handles MP4, M4V, and MOV formats too! And here's the best part: while transferring files, Picture Transfer Companion keeps everything in its original quality without compressing them. Plus, all EXIF metadata stays intact.
The interface is super simple! Once your target device shows up in Picture Transfer Companion, it'll appear right in the main window. You can even choose where you want your transferred files to go.
A little heads-up: in the free demo version, you can only transfer one file at a time. If you want to send multiple files at once without restrictions, you'll need to upgrade to the PRO version from within the app.
If you're ready to simplify your photo transfers today, check out Picture Transfer Companion!
