Picture Rescue is a handy tool for Mac users who need to recover lost or damaged image files from media cards or USB drives. Easy Scanning for Lost Photos

When you open Picture Rescue, you'll see a simple main window. Here, you can check out all the cards connected to your computer and even test them for errors. If you want, you can also scan these drives to search for missing images. Plus, if you need to format a drive, the app lets you do that too!

Add Drives Manually

If Picture Rescue doesn't automatically find a drive you're trying to recover from, don’t worry! You can easily add it yourself through the “File” menu. The app also gives you one more customization option: in the Preferences section, you can choose whether or not to view image thumbnails while scanning.

How to Get Started with Picture Rescue

To kick things off with Picture Rescue, just pick the drive you want to check out and hit the “Scan” button at the bottom of the main window. The app will go through the disk and show you a list of all detected image files.

Your Files at a Glance

You can look at this list in either icon mode or list mode—whichever works best for you! You'll be able to see image thumbnails as well as key details about each file like name, size, dimensions, and creation date. When you've found the photos you want to recover, just select them and click on the “Recover” button. It’s that easy—Picture Rescue does all the hard work for you!
