Picture Frame is a cool little widget made for the Yahoo! Widget Engine. It lets you enjoy a slideshow of your favorite images right on your desktop. The best part? It's super easy to install and set up!
The interface is simple, featuring a small frame where you can pick where your images come from—whether it's from Flickr, Yahoo! Photos, or straight from your computer.
If you right-click on the widget, you'll find the 'Widget Preferences' menu. This is where the magic happens! You can choose your image source, sort pictures in order or shuffle them, and even pick an image folder. Plus, it can dig into subfolders if you want!
You can also tweak how the main frame looks. Set the max size for your photos and decide how they resize from any corner. Want to make it look stylish? Choose from options like 'Black Lacquer', 'Light Wood', 'Dark Wood', 'Simple Shadow', or just go with none!
With default settings by Yahoo! Widget Engine, Picture Frame can sit above or below other windows. You can even make it ignore mouse clicks and prevent dragging around. Plus, adjust its transparency level anywhere between 20% and 100%!
This little widget doesn't hog your computer's resources either! It runs smoothly with low CPU and memory use. During testing, we found it super responsive—no freezes or crashes at all.
A bit of a bummer though—the Yahoo! Widget Engine has been discontinued, so don’t expect any new updates for Picture Frame. But hey, if you're looking for a lightweight way to showcase images on your desktop, download Picture Frame now!
