Description
Decisions, decisions - we've all said it once or twice. Being indecisive can have a significant impact on our lives. It's often said that making a decision (even if it's potentially the wrong one) is better than making no decision at all.
I'm not here to get into the nitty-gritty of human psychology, but there's a lot that goes into making decisions. Or, you could flip a coin, if the decision is not about something significant. Or, you could use Picker.
Picker is a simple, free, and open-source Linux application that randomly picks something out of a list of things. That said, it could come in handy if, say, you're not sure what to do with your spare time and you like a bit of randomness added to your life.
The thing about this app is it works based on your input. In short, you have first to write down a couple of activities to its list, and then just press the ">Choose" button at the bottom.
Once the app chooses something from the list you provide it with, it prompts you with a quick pop-up window. From this window, you can either copy the activity to your clipboard, remove it from the list, or simply accept the choice by pressing "Okay."
Clearly, this is not what one might call an impressive application. However, I am a big fan of simple apps and for what it is Picker is a decent little app. I would have loved to see a bit more customization options, or some extra general features (for instance, emoji support), but it gets the job done as is. I also enjoy the fact that it's a GTK app which means it looks right at home on GNOME desktop environments.
