Phenix is a handy little Mac app that makes it super easy to split files into smaller parts and then put them back together. It’s perfect for when you need to send large files over email, but don’t want to deal with size limits!
How to Split Files with Phenix
So, how does it work? Well, if you want to cut a file into smaller pieces, just drag and drop your file onto the Phenix script. Then, you can type in the size you want for each piece in KBytes. Once you've done that, Phenix will create those smaller files for you in a folder called Heliopolis. This folder will be inside one that you choose! Plus, it even creates two extra 0 KB files to keep track of the original name and any extensions.
Reassembling Your Files
Now let’s talk about putting everything back together! When you're ready to reassemble the file, just drag all of those split-up files—yes, all at once—onto the script. Make sure not to rename any of them! The app does its magic and puts everything back together in a folder that you pick.
