Paletro

Paletro is a cool little app that can really help you boost your productivity on macOS. While we hope one day macOS will have everything we need built-in, for now, there are still lots of areas to improve. That’s where Paletro shines!

What is Paletro?

This handy app brings a feature many VS Code and Sublime Text users know and love: the Command Palette. Think of it like a search tool similar to Spotlight, but specifically designed for finding and activating functions in your favorite apps. You can even use the hotkeys from the original application!

How to Use Paletro

Once you give Paletro the necessary permissions, just hit ⇧⌘P, and voilà! The search field pops up. Not a fan of that shortcut? No worries! You can easily change it in the app’s preferences whenever you want.

Search Made Easy

You can search for any function from the highlighted app’s main menu and activate it just by pressing Enter. Even sub-menus are fair game! Plus, you’ll see each feature’s keyboard shortcut on the right side, so you can use those combos directly from Paletro.

Customize Your Experience

The app fits right in with your Mac's look, but if you want something different, there are plenty of themes to choose from. You also get to decide how many results show up at once, and you can move the search window wherever you like on your desktop.

Control Your Search Results

If there's an app where some menus or sub-menus aren’t needed, don’t sweat it! Paletro allows you to blacklist certain menus in any application so they won’t clutter up your search results.

A Worthwhile Investment

Using Paletro makes it feel like a natural part of macOS after some time. It’s clear that this app has been well thought out! Although it's not free, I genuinely believe it's worth every penny since it skips over those pesky subscription fees that seem so common these days.
